Zimbabwe out of World Cup 2023: Either Scotland or Netherlands to Qualify

World Cup 2023: Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the cricket world cup 2023. It’s been a very sad moment for the Zimbabwe team and their fans that their team didn’t make it to the cricket world cup 2023. Zimbabwe were good in their previous matches. They even won the match against a top team like West Indies. But due to one bad game against Scotland, their race to the world cup is over.

The match was played at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where Scotland gave a target of 235 to chase down for Zimbabwe in 50 overs. Ryan Burl was the top scorer for the team but his innings was not sufficient to win the match. Zimbabwe managed to score only 203 runs facing a defeat with 31 runs.

Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine expresses his sadness over the loss. He said,” Everybody is gutted, it is always nice to put the demons from 2018 behind us, and had we won today, nobody would have been asking about that but unfortunately we didn’t. I am extremely proud of the way the boys have played right through the tournament, Williams has been fantastic and we can take a lot of positives away. We are really thankful for the crowd that has come and supported us, cricket has changed in the last year or so and that is because of the way we are playing. We are playing an exciting brand of cricket and that is the reason the crowd is coming out to support us.”
